Let’s start where it all began…..Meet the owners of Blackrock Homes & Decks:
Chris is no stranger to the construction industry. Chris started in construction working for a custom stair and railing contractor where they built everything from small interior railings to custom built spiral staircases. He later got hired as a superintendent for a small residential home builder running all phases of the new home construction and enjoyed doing this for 5 years.
Chris loved the new home construction and decided to start his own business in 2007. This is when Blackrock Homes Utah was started. About Us – Black Rock Homes (blackrockhomesutah.com)
Chris, his wife Charmaine and their 3 kids enjoy the great outdoors, especially in the beautiful mounting of Utah. Their Family loves camping, hiking, snowshoeing, and snowboarding. Family vacations and spending time together is always a must. Incredibly talented in woodworking, Chris enjoys making beautiful pieces of art in his free time.
Shae is co-owner of Blackrock Homes and Decks and has over 20 years of construction and building experience. Building and creating high quality unique projects for Blackrock customers is a great outlet for Shae’s energy and need to create.
Shae has a Degree in Business Management. He enjoys meeting with and getting to know his customers in order to help design the perfect outdoor living space for their needs. He especially likes the final walk through with customers when they tell him “It turned out even better than we imagined”.
Shae learned the meaning of hard work and the importance of precision as a welders apprentice. He then became a certified welder and pipe fitter, working all over the state of Utah. Shae helped run a framing construction company for 3 years before taking a job with a large financial services company while attending college. After college he was recruited by an exterior specialties company to run their deck and patio division. He and Chris partnered up a few years later and the rest is history/ the future.
When Shae is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Amber and their 5 children. They love to travel around to the different sporting events, dance recitals, art shows, guitar recitals and anything else that their kids are involved in, as well as vacationing anywhere that is warm and spending time in the outdoors whenever possible.
Shae believes quality and honesty are fundamentals to a successful business and he strives to deliver a finished product that is above and beyond expectations. He prides himself in the fact that Blackrock Homes & Decks customers will refer their families and friends time and time again.
We weathered the recession through word-of-mouth referrals and small projects and have been growing ever since.
